BSH Academy Managers Workshop

BSH sought to implement new, advanced leadership principles and a new competence model, but management had precious little time available for lengthy training events. Seeking to take an innovative, interactive, entertaining, and interesting approach, the BSH Academy turned to a team of advisors from Agamus Consult to help it rise to all these formidable challenges.

The company had tasked the staff of its BSH Academy and Human Resource Development department to first define leadership principles and a management competence model, and then convey this content to all managers worldwide, providing the underpinning for leadership practices throughout BSH. Amongst others these issues would also be discussed at upcoming meetings to define personal goals for the year, so BSH wanted to engage the target audience with a fresh, new presentation.

There was a quick common consent to use the ACCB - Agamus Consult Communication Board - and to create it in the style of board games. Three months of intensive development efforts together with the BSH project team began. By now we already print the 2nd edition of the developed documents.

“The workshops with the communication boards are being held around the whole world with great success. This method has surprised managers across all hierarchic levels, and they rate it very positively", notes Ms. S., Central HR Department.

So, what was so surprisingly different about the BSH Academy’s and our way of conveying the message? It was:

Innovative: Not just another wall-to-wall PowerPoint lecture

Interactive: Small groups working together to master tasks

Entertaining: Compelling anecdotes, plus topic / event cards and dice to add a fun-and-games touch

Challenging: Sophisticated questions and tough tasks get the message across

Timesaving: 2½-hour sessions
